Queen Elizabeth I (as Princess) Miniature Portrait Pendant
#RH-PE - Throughout the age of the Tudors, miniature portraits were exchanged as tokens of love and friendship and were worn by the recipient, often suspended from a chain or hung from a large brooch.
Painted after the earliest surviving portrait of Elizabeth I, now in the collection of Her Majesty the Queen at Windsor Castle, this image depicts Elizabeth between the age of 12 and 14. Painted for King Henry VIII, her portrait is one of a pair, the other depicting her half-brother, the future King Edward VI.
The miniature is painted in the traditional style with period appropriate materials. It arrives framed in a 2.5" diameter gold-plated pendant frame ready to suspend from the chain, ribbon, or brooch of your choice.
Imported by special order. We ask that you please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery on all miniature portraits as each is a uniquely created work of art.
