Queen Katherine Parr Miniature Portrait Pendant
#RH-KP - Throughout the age of the Tudors, miniature portraits were exchanged as tokens of love and friendship and were worn by the recipient, often suspended from a chain or hung from a large brooch.
Katherine Parr was the sixth and final wife of King Henry VIII. At the time of her marriage to Henry, she was already a young widow, and cared for the ailing King Henry throughout his older age. To marry the king, she had to lay aside an engagement to Thomas Seymour (brother of Queen Jane), though Thomas and Katherine were finally wed shortly after King Henry's death.
The miniature is painted in the traditional style with period appropriate materials. It arrives framed in a 2.5" diameter gold-plated pendant frame ready to suspend from the chain, ribbon, or brooch of your choice.
Imported by special order. We ask that you please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery on all miniature portraits as each is a uniquely created work of art.
