Elizabeth I Armada Medal, Portrait
#HSBC-2 - A faithful copy, cast from an extant artifact. The original was struck in 1589 on the orders of Queen Elizabeth I to commemorate the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588. On the obverse, Queen Elizabeth appears in portrait, surrounded by a riband bearing her royal titles in Latin. On the reverse, a large bay tree sprouts from an island in the sea, towering over a small town, bearing the inscription, "Not even perils touch it," in Latin.
This beautiful medal, approximately 2 inches tall, is suitable for wearing on a ribbon or a chain.
